Getting your car back after a Lubbock police tow
Since April 2026, Lubbock police tows can be looked up and paid for online before you go to the lot.
General information, not legal advice. The papers you got from the police, the tow company, the storage lot or a state agency control your dates. Agencies change phone numbers and steps, so check the agency's own page too.
Find it
Go to LPD's Reports & Forms page and choose 'Find a Towed Vehicle'. Search by license plate or VIN. If the car is there, the fees are shown. If you cannot find it, call LPD's non-emergency line, 806-775-2865.

Pay and pick up
The City's release says you upload a driver's license or state ID and the title, insurance or registration, then enter a credit or debit card; a hold is placed for the fees. Take the digital receipt and paper copies of the same documents to the tow lot at 3209 East Slaton Highway.
- State law requires a storage lot to take cash, debit and credit cards for its charges.
- A storage lot must accept proof of insurance as an extra form of identification.

If it is not claimed
An unclaimed police-held vehicle can be sold at LPD's monthly abandoned-vehicle auction after the state notice period: the police notice must go out within 10 days, and the owner has 20 days from the notice to claim the vehicle.
