County fees and city towing codes (2009 to 2017)

  1. Brazos County adopts Order 09-003 setting maximum fees for law-enforcement tows outside city limits ($175 basic tow).

  2. College Station republishes its Code; the towing rules, formerly section 4-10, become chapter 38, article IV.

  3. Bryan Ordinance 2028 replaces the City's tow truck and storage article with new rules, including the rotation list and fee-by-resolution section.

  5. A new state law (Occupations Code § 2308.259) sets rules for towing from university parking facilities for special events, capping the fee at 75% of the state private-tow maximum.

Pay-lot disputes in the courts (2018 to 2026)

  1. KBTX reports complaints about tows from a $5 cash pay lot near Northgate; the towing company denies wrongdoing.
