Is my car being sold? Lien sales and auctions in College Station and Bryan
If a tow company or storage lot keeps a car and the bill is not paid, the car can be sold after the notices and waiting periods the law sets. The notice you get tells you which rules apply and how much time you have.
General information, not legal advice. Check your notice: the dates printed on it are the ones that count. Count calendar days unless the rule says business days.
How a towed car can be sold
Local steps
Neither city runs a public impound lot that we found. College Station's Code requires companies doing nonconsent tows to use a state-licensed storage lot in Brazos County, so towed cars sit at private storage lots and any sale follows the Vehicle Storage Facility Act notices.

A vehicle a police agency treats as abandoned follows Transportation Code chapter 683: a notice within 10 days of custody, 20 days from the notice to claim it, then a public auction.
