Towing Task Force Report

A rate study by the state task force of industry, consumer, law enforcement and community members. It compares the regulated private-property tow maximum with what tow companies charge for tows people ask for, surveys tow company costs, and notes that the 2022 law cut the notice fee from $150 to $75 and created the 15% / $60 release.

Why it matters: Explains where the State's maximum tow and storage amounts come from.

Only 42 of about 725 permitted tow companies answered the survey, so its cost figures are not a full picture.
